Our view of the service
Cocoon Harrogate provides a pregnancy and women’s health clinic designed to support families through one of the most important chapters of their lives. From early pregnancy scans and fertility assessments to midwifery care and emotional support, the clinic was created to offer a calm and reassuring environment where individuals and families could feel genuinely looked after.
Cocoon Harrogate registered with CQC 29 January 2024. It has not been assessed by CQC.
The service provided ultrasound in fertility pelvic and well-woman, Early Pregnancy (from six weeks’ gestation), Gender and reassurance (from 16 weeks), Growth (from 26 weeks), and 4D (from 24-32 weeks). All pregnancy-related ultrasound was offered in addition to clients’ NHS provision. The service undertook 1,939 appointments between May 2025 and April 2026.
The service also provided pre and postnatal midwifery support which enhanced and complemented existing NHS care. Areas covered were Early Pregnancy Support and Reassurance, General Reassurance and Wellbeing, The Halfway Hump! Labour and Birth Choices, Pregnancy after Loss, Neurodivergence, Advocacy, Pregnancy after Trauma, Newborn Feeding Support, Postnatal Cocoon.
They also offered non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) screening and a phlebotomy service.
This assessment focused on diagnostic and screening service provided.
We undertook an onsite visit on 24 June 2026.
We received feedback about the service from 4 women and reviewed 3 sets of women’s scanning records. We spoke with 6 members of staff and the Registered Manager.
At this assessment we identified one breach of regulation in relation to Regulation 17 Good Governance.
