Our view of the service
We carried out an assessment between the 28 November 2024 and 18 December 2024, in response to concerns we received. Stirling Road Medical Centre is a GP practice and delivers services to approximately 34,000 patients under a contract held with NHS England. The practice has one main location and four branch sites. Information published by the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities shows that deprivation within the practice population group is in the 1st decile (1 of 10). The lower the decile, the more deprived the practice population is compared to others. This assessment considered the demographics of people using the service, the context the service was working within and how this impacted service delivery. Scores were reached based on evidence found at this assessment.
The provider of this service took over the running of the practice in April 2024. At this assessment we found improvements were needed in governance systems and processes, in particular health and safety; staff training; monitoring of people’s health and access to care and treatment for people in a timely manner . People were treated with respect and kindness. Where relevant, further commentary is provided in the quality statements section of this report. The service was in breach of the legal regulation relating to person-centred care, staffing and good governance. We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this assessment.
