Our view of the service
The overall location rating of ‘insufficient evidence to rate’ is used as we have not assessed all the services which HCA Healthcare UK The Harborne Hospital provide and therefore cannot rate the location overall.
HCA Healthcare UK The Harborne Hospital is the newest of the hospitals within the larger HCA International Ltd portfolio. HCA Healthcare UK The Harborne Hospital provides private healthcare for patients in Birmingham and the West Midlands region.
At the time of the most recent inspection, there were 180 permanent staff employed by the service, 251 consultants working at the hospital, over 700 admissions into the hospital. During the inspection undertaken on 20 and 21 January 2026, we inspected surgery services, and diagnostic imaging. We inspected the services due to the length of time since registering with CQC. No concerns had been raised prior to our inspection.
Surgery was rated as good overall; however, we rated effective as requires improvement. Diagnostic imaging was rated as good overall and good in all key lines of enquiry.
We identified 1 breach of regulation during our inspection of surgical services which was in relation to monitoring patient outcomes (Regulation 17 (2) (a)).
