Our view of the service
Reliance Secure Transport was registered with the Care Quality Commission on 29 November 2023 to provide private patient transport service.
We carried out this assessment following information of concern around safe and effective staffing. We inspected seven quality statements across safe and well-led. As we did not assess all evidence categories and all quality statements, we did not rate the location at this time.
The provider did not always ensure staff’s pre-employment checks were carried out before they started working as part of an ambulance crew. Staff were not always skilled and experienced for the roles they carried out. Not all staff had completed the required training, and the provider was unable to provide assurance when this training would be completed for all staff. We found vehicle cleaning and equipment checklists were not carried out and vehicles had been left dirty with equipment that did not work. Staff could not access policies and procedures and there was a lack of clear staff reporting arrangements when the registered manager was unavailable.
