Hagley Surgery delivers services to around 9,875 patients under a contract held with NHS England. Information published by Office for Health Improvement and Disparities shows that deprivation within the practice population group is in the 10th decile (10 out of 10). The lower the decile, the more deprived the practice population is relative to others. Where relevant, further commentary is provided in the quality statements section of this report.
The practice was previously inspected in 2018. We carried out a comprehensive inspection on 20-21 January 2026 and rated the practice Good in all domains and Good overall.
People's experience of this service
To hear from patients about their experiences we asked the service to share details of CQCs email and telephone number to provide their feedback. In addition, we provided the service with CQC comment card forms for patients to provide their written feedback about their experience. We received feedback from 6 patients of which 3 were positive about their experience of the service; 2 were mixed; and 1 was negative. Patients told us they felt listened to, cared for, and reported staff to be helpful. The mixed and negative feedback related to the appointment system where patients reported difficulties making appointments; and stated preferences for face to face rather than telephone appointments.
Data shared from the NHS ‘Friends and Family Test’ showed that the vast majority of patient experience about the practice was highly positive. 97% of patients surveyed said they found their care at the practice to be either ‘Very Good’ or ‘Good.’
The results of the National GP Patient Survey found 85% of patients described their overall experience of Hagley Surgery as ‘Good’ which was above the national average of 75%. 89% of patients reported the healthcare professional they saw or spoke to was good at treating them with care and concern during their last general practice appointment. 92% of patients reported the healthcare professional they saw or spoke to was good at listening to them during their last general practice appointment. 92% of patients found the reception and administrative team at Hagley Surgery Centre helpful.
