Our view of the service

Our view of the service

Date of Assessment: 24 July to 2 August 2024. The service is a residential home providing support to 25 older people, some of whom were living with dementia. We carried out a responsive inspection covering areas within the key questions for Safe and Well-Led.

Our decision to inspect the service was due to concerns we received related to the running of the home. We found no concerns about the quality of care and support. People were protected and kept safe. There were enough staff with the right skills, qualifications and experience. Staff managed medicines well.

Staff treated people with kindness and acknowledged and responded to people’s individuality. Staff were responsive to people and ensured they received care and support in line with their preferences and needs. The atmosphere was friendly, and people chatted with each other and there was a sense of community.

The service had a good learning culture as the provider investigated incidents thoroughly. In response to our feedback regarding professional boundaries and management style of communication, the provider took steps to ensure concerns were managed appropriately.
