Our view of the service
Date of assessment: 27 August to 11 September 2026.
Closer Care Services – Main Office is a domiciliary care agency. It provides personal care to people living in their own homes. It provides a service to adults of all ages and people who are living with dementia, and physical disabilities. Not everyone using Closer Care Services – Main Office received a regulated activity. CQC only inspect where people are provided with 'personal care'; help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. At the time of our inspection 15 people were supported by the provider with personal care.
This inspection took place to follow up previous breaches of regulation. Significant improvements had been made across the service since the last inspection, and the provider was no longer in breach of the legal regulations relating to safe care and treatment and good governance.
Care plans and risk assessments had improved substantially since the last assessment. Records demonstrated detailed, person-centred care planning which accurately reflected people's health needs, communication requirements, personal preferences, cultural backgrounds, and routines. Risk assessments had improved and covered all identified risks including mobility, moving and handling, falls, medicines and skin integrity.
The registered manager and nominated individual had completed additional training to increase their knowledge of key areas across the service. Both the registered manager and the nominated individual showed insight into previous shortfalls and had worked hard to make sure they made improvements.
Medicines were managed safely. Staff had received additional training in areas such as catheter and stoma care. The provider also ensured all training courses could be offered in a variety of languages.
New staff incentives had been implemented, including ‘carer of the month’. Staff spoke positively about working at the service. A staff member told us, “"I really love this company and I really love this job. I love working, if the company is good with the good support, you love working."
Governance systems had been strengthened, audits captured areas for improvement, and the registered manager took swift action to implement changes.
