Our view of the service

Date of assessment: 11 February to 12 February 2026. Bramble Home Care Limited is a homecare service providing personal care to adults of all ages in their homes. CQC only inspects the service being received by people provided with 'personal care’; such as help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided. At the time of our assessment, 55 people were receiving the regulated activity of personal care.

The assessment took place to follow up on previous breaches in regulation. The provider was previously in breach of the legal regulation in relation to safe care and treatment and good governance. Improvements were found at this assessment, and the provider was no longer in breach of these regulations. During this inspection, the provider was in breach of the legal regulation relating to safe care and treatment. This was a breach of regulation 12 safe care and treatment.

The service had met their action plan for their previous breaches of regulations; however, at this assessment new breaches of regulations were found in relation to medicines management.

We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this assessment.

We rated this service as good overall.

The service had a strong, proactive and positive culture, which empowered people to reduce risks to their safety. The service had an open and transparent culture and staff had a strong focus on continuous learning and improvement. Challenges were seen as opportunities and not obstacles, which showed a true commitment to support people to maintain their health and wellbeing. Staff were trained and supported in their roles. All staff spoke highly about the providers values of genuinely caring and valuing them as a team which ensured they delivered high-quality care to people.

People’s care was planned in an exceptionally personalised and holistic way. Leaders and staff worked diligently to ensure people’s emotional wellbeing and health needs were met. The provider strived to ensure people had the same staff members to support them and sought feedback in a personalised system created by the managers. They welcomed contact from people and their relatives and wanted to ensure everyone who contacted the service had a positive outcome.

Staff and leaders were exceptional at treating people with kindness, empathy, and compassion. They respected people’s dignity and privacy and understood the importance of supporting people to maintain their independence. The provider not only valued people using their service, but their individual support networks too.

There was a very strong emphasis on the provision of reducing social isolation which was meaningful to people.

Staff excelled in identifying when people needed additional support from other agencies and supported them to access these without delay. When a need was identified, the provider quickly developed training to enable staff to meet people’s needs and to deliver safe care. Staff demonstrated exceptional values of putting people first and advocating on their behalf to ensure they did not experience any barriers to care. Professionals spoke highly of staff’s proactive and compassionate approach.

However, the service was not managing medicines safely. We found concerns regarding how the service’s systems recorded when medicines were omitted or when there was no stock. We also had concerns for administration of time sensitive medicines, risk assessments and information corroborated in care records. We found the service’s audits were not providing adequate oversight and areas of concern were not identified or followed up.
