Ratings - Refractive eye surgery
Our view of the service
Date of assessment: 3 to 15 July 2025. Prema Health provides refractive eye surgery services. This assessment looked at refractive eye surgery services. This was our first assessment and we rated services provided as good.
In our comprehensive assessment of refractive eye surgery services we found the service delivered safe care and treatment in line with best practice guidelines. Staff and leaders ensured patient safety checks were always performed well. Leaders ensured lessons were learnt when incidents occurred.
Additionally, the service monitored outcomes and used this information to make improvements. Staff and leaders demonstrated strong teamworking and collaboration to ensure patients were treated with kindness and dignity.
People's experience of this service
We collected feedback from 7 patients on the day of inspection, reviewed patient care records and observed care and treatment provided by the service. Patients we spoke with felt staff were caring and they had been included in all discussions and decision making about their care and treatment.
Patients said staff treated them well and with kindness. A patient undergoing care during our inspection said, “Everyone has been lovely and helpful. They are all very caring.”
