Our view of the service

Date of assessment: 17 July 2026.

London provides care to people living in their own home. Only one person was receiving support with personal care at the time of the inspection. Care Quality Commission (CQC) only inspects where people receive personal care. This is to help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social support provided.

This was a planned assessment of all quality statements under the key questions of safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. The service has been rated good following this assessment.

We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed autistic people and people with a learning disability respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. At the time of the assessment, the service was not supporting any autistic people or people with a learning disability, but the provider had regard to ‘Right support, right care, and right culture’.

The care plan was well written and had recently been reviewed. It included information about how to support people and included their views about the support they wanted. The care plan was detailed, person-centred and easy for staff to follow. Relatives felt the staff treated their loved one with respect kindness and maintained their dignity when providing support. However, we found potential risks to people were not always managed effectively. We discussed this the registered manger and they then completed relevant risk assessments.

Staff were experienced and had worked for the provider for many years so knew people well. The provider recruited staff safely that was in accordance with all current legislative requirements. Staff we spoke with understood the person’s needs and spoke warmly of their working relationship with them. Staff completed an induction at the beginning of their employment and received ongoing support through trainings and ongoing discussions. Staff reported having a positive relationship with the provider and felt communication was effective.

The provider had policies and procedures in place. However, some policies were not routinely reviewed and updated. This meant staff did not always have up to date information on how to do their jobs effectively.

Staff were provided with personal protective equipment (PPE) to protect people from the risk of cross infection.

Systems to monitor the quality and safety of the service were in place but they were not effective.

Feedback from relatives was positive about safety and where people required support with moving and handling, they expressed confidence in staff practice.
