Our view of the service
Date of Assessment: 16 April to 30 April 2026. We visited the service on 27 April 2026. This service is a domiciliary care service, registered to provide personal care for people living in their own homes in the community. They provide support to people with a range of different needs including older people, younger adults, people with physical disabilities and people living with dementia.
At the time of the assessment 11 people were using the service, 10 of which were receiving the regulated activity of personal care. Not everyone who uses a domiciliary care service receives personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care.
This is the first assessment for this provider under its new registration. At this assessment we reviewed all 5 key questions and all the quality statements. We rated the provider overall as good.
Due to the small size of the service, systems currently in place were more individualised and whilst lessons were learnt from incidents and shared with staff further work was needed to ensure good oversight particularly as the service expands.
Staff told us they felt supported and received regular supervision. Some training required completion or updating and although systems for recruitment were in place these needed review to fully ensure safe recruitment of staff. Action was taken by the registered manager to address these areas.
Care plans overall were detailed and person centred. One care plan needed more detail to fully mitigate risk, and some required further detail around capacity which was actioned immediately by the registered manager.
The service was working within the principles of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA) and staff were clear in their conversations with us of their responsibilities to seek consent. However, some staff were yet to complete or refresh training in this area.
People were protected from the risks of abuse and staff were trusted to keep them safe. Staff we spoke with were confident to report concerns and were satisfied action would be taken to investigate concerns raised.
The service demonstrated a positive, compassionate and open environment. Staff, people and relatives spoke positively about the culture of the service.

I can be a [relative] instead of a carer and cleaner. It’s changed my life.”
People and their relatives felt the support they received was safe. One relative commented, “[I have] never had to raise concerns about safety.”
People and their relatives raised no concerns about call times or consistency. One relative told us, “They’re always on time – never had them [staff] late.”
