Our view of the service

Date of Assessment: 11 August to 19 September 2025

Office G19 provides care and support to people living at three supported living services in Worthing, East Preston and Dorking. Not everyone who used the service received personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive the regulated activity of personal care. This was the first inspection of the service.

Systems and processes were in place to mitigate the risk of harm to people and to protect them from abuse. Staff had a clear understanding of their responsibilities under safeguarding, while the provider understood their regulatory responsibilities. People were involved in the management of risk to their care and support. People were supported by enough staff who had received the appropriate training to meet people’s needs. Appropriate infection control procedures were in place to keep people safe.

People received effective care. People’s needs, wishes and preferences were assessed were captured and staff understood these needs. People were supported, when needed, to access healthcare services. People were encouraged to maintain relationships with family and friends.

People received personalised care that was tailored to meet their individual needs, preferences and choices. Care plans were detailed and guided staff about people's needs and how to meet them. Concerns and complaints were listened to and used to improve the service they received.

People, staff and relatives spoke positively about the registered manager. Management was approachable and open to feedback and discussions about people’s care. The quality of people’s care was supported by effective quality assurance systems. The registered manager encouraged feedback from people, staff and professionals involved in people’s care.

We have assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ (RS,RC,RC) guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. We found people were being supported in line with this guidance.

People's experience of this service

People we spoke to and observed looked comfortable and happy at the service they lived at. Not everyone could tell us directly of their experience of being supported by the provider, but people engaged happily and confidently with staff who were aware of, and attentive to, their needs. People were engaged in activities or preparing to go on visits in the community with staff. There was a focus on continuously developing people’s ownership of meaningful activities, independence and quality of life.

Our observations showed us that staff supported people in a kind, and respectful manner. People were relaxed and content to be with the staff. Feedback we received from professionals and partners stated engagement was positive and that the service focused on providing person-centred care for people. One professional said, “Staff look like they genuinely care for the service users.” Another professional said, “It’s a good service which I would recommend to others.”

People’s family members played an active part in their lives and the provider engaged with them positively and proactively. Relatives were happy with how responsive staff were to their loved ones needs. One relative said, “(Person’s name) has absolutely thrived since moving to (there).”
