Our view of the service

The assessment was carried out on 29 July 2026. Guardian Homecare (Tatton Gardens) is an extra care housing scheme registered to provide personal care. At the time of the assessment, there were 23 people in receipt of care and support. We looked at all the quality statements across the five key questions. The inspection took place due to the location being unrated. This was the locations first inspection.

The inspection was announced 24 hours prior to visiting Guardian Homecare (Tatton Gardens), to ensure people could consent to us entering their homes and the manager would be onsite.

At the time of the inspection the manager was in the process of registering with the Care Quality Commission.

Some improvements were needed in the recording of medicines as this was not always completed to the standard expected. Medicine records and daily notes were paper based, and these were going to be transferred to an electronic recording system. Management were confident this would improve documentation.

Whilst care plans provided detailed information of people’s wishes and preferences, daily notes were vague and needed more information on the care that had been delivered.

Feedback was gained from healthcare professionals that visited the location. All the feedback was positive, and all reported they could work in partnership with the team to ensure peoples safety and improve outcomes. All professionals were confident any concerns that needed to be raised would be quickly resolved by the manager. Staff spoke positively about managers and the support offered. Staff felt able to raise concerns and were confident they would be listened to.

Managers worked with the housing provider to ensure accommodation was well maintained. Maintenance checks were completed by the housing provider to ensure the environment was safe, and this included fire safety checks.
