Our view of the service

We carried out this inspection from 2 to 10 June 2026. The service is a residential care home providing support to people with a learning disability and autistic people. There were 14 people living in the home at the time of our inspection. We inspected all 33 quality statements. We inspected the service due to receiving information of concern and to follow up on the enforcement action we had taken during the previous inspection.

The provider was previously in breach of the legal regulations in relation to dignity and respect, notifications of other incidents, person-centred care, premises and equipment, safeguarding service users from abuse and improper treatment, and good governance. Improvements were found at this inspection, and the provider was no longer in breach of these regulations.

The provider was highly motivated to maintain a high level of care to people. People were protected and kept safe.People’s health conditions and associated risks were assessed and managed safely. Staff were recruited safely and received appropriate training and supervision. Staff were trained to raise and respond to safeguarding concerns both internally and to external agencies. Medicines were stored, documented, and administered safely.

People’s needs were assessed and reviewed. People were supported by staff who treated them with kindness and respected their dignity. Staff ensured people’s care and support met individual needs and preferences.

There was a system in place for responding to concerns or complaints. A dedicated management team led the service which included a registered manager. Staff were able to raise concerns and told us managers were approachable and supportive.

We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence, and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. We found people received care and support in accordance with the principles of this guidance.

People's experience of this service

We spoke with relatives and used observation to assess whether people received good care. We undertook an observation using Short Observational Framework for Inspection (SOFI). This meant we observed 6 people for 30 minutes, recording their mood, well-being, activities, and interactions with staff during this time. We observed staff were kind.

We spoke with relatives, 1 relative told us, “I know my loved one is safe and well looked after. Every time I visit, my loved one is clean and tidy and always looks happy.” Another relative told us, “I am confident that the staff are appropriately trained to meet my loved one’s needs. I can tell my loved one trusts them and that is good enough for me.”

Relatives also told us they were happy with the improvements they have seen. They told us they are kept up to date with relevant information, and the registered manager is contactable if they have any concerns.
