Responsive
We looked for evidence that the service met people’s needs, and that staff treated people equally and without discrimination.
This is the first inspection for this service since its registration with CQC. This key question has been rated as Good.
This service scored 70 (out of 100) for this area. Find out what we look at when we assess this area and How we calculate these scores.
Person-centred Care
The provider did not always make sure people were at the centre of their care and treatment choices and they did not always decide with patients how to respond to any relevant changes in their needs. Patients had a weekly appointment and expectations were discussed, however it was not clear from the records we reviewed what was discussed.
Our review of clinical records showed patients were supported to understand their treatment. However we were not assured that patients were always receiving person centred care. Records show a lack of holistic approach, and no documented conversations around diet or dose of medication.
Providing Information
The provider supplied appropriate, accurate and up-to-date information in formats that were tailored to individual needs. Information was both requested and provided to the GP practice to enable continuous care.
Information produced by the provider met the Accessible Information Standard. Patients were informed as to how to access their care records.
Listening to and involving people
The provider made it easy for people to share feedback and ideas, or raise complaints about their care, treatment and support. They involved people in decisions about their care and told them what had changed as a result. The provider had received no complaints for 12 months prior to our inspection. The provider had a complaints policy.
Equity in access
People could access the service to suit their needs for example online, in person and by telephone. Treatment rooms were available. Patients could speak to the provider via telephone outside of usual opening hours if required. New patients were able to access an appointment quickly. Patients were kept up to date with planned closures.
Equity in experiences and outcomes
This is a private weight loss clinic; this quality statement is not relevant to the assessment. We have no concerns regarding equity in outcomes for people who use the service.
