Our view of the service
Date of Assessment: 19 May 2026 to 29 May 2026
Chenai Holistic Home Care Agency a domiciliary care agency that provides care and support to people living in their own homes. This is the first inspection of the service since it registered with us on 29 November 2022.
The service supported older people, some of whom lived with dementia. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. The service provided person-centred care to a small number of people. People and their relatives spoke positively about the service and they told us they had good relationships with staff and managers. The service worked in partnership with people and relatives and involved them in care delivery and decision-making.
Care was delivered safely to people. Their risks were assessed and managed appropriately. Staff demonstrated a good understanding of people’s health conditions and knew how to respond to changes or concerns. Staff received appropriate training and support to carry out their roles. This included mandatory training as well as shadowing and checks of their competency. Staff told us they felt well supported and there was an open-door culture. Recruitment processes were robust, with checks in place to ensure staff were suitable to work in care roles.
People were supported to maintain their independence and make choices about their care. There was a positive and inclusive culture within the service. Staff and managers were described as approachable, supportive and committed to providing good quality care. The management team maintained oversight of the service to identify trends and drive improvement. There was a strong emphasis on communication, learning and continuous improvement.
Systems were in place to monitor the safety and quality of the service, including monthly audits, spot checks, call monitoring, and regular communication with people and relatives. There were processes to report incidents and safeguarding concerns.
