Our view of the service

Date of assessment: 11 and 12 June 2025. Shores Homecare Limited is a domiciliary care agency providing support to people living in their own homes. It was providing the regulated activity of personal care to 38 people at the time of our inspection.

This inspection was undertaken to review the breaches in regulation found during the last inspection, which was undertaken in June 2021. These breaches related to good governance at the service. The provider completed an action plan in response to the concerns found during that inspection. We found the actions outlined in the action plan had been completed. There were no breaches identified during this inspection.

People received safe and person-centred care from consistent, trained staff who knew them well. Safeguarding processes were embedded across the service and managers were responsive to any concerns. Learning from these was shared quickly and as appropriate, across the service using the electronic system, supervisions and team meetings. Staff received regular support and training. Medicines were administered safely by trained staff who were regularly checked on their competency to deliver both care and medicines.

Staff were well-supported by open and inclusive managers. Staff worked closely as a team and with partner organisations. Staff were vigilant about monitoring and taking action to improve people’s health.

However, governance systems were not appropriately formalised to ensure checks and audits reviewed all aspects of people’s care and care planning. Systems had not identified the areas of concern found during our inspection visit. People’s needs were assessed prior to them receiving care from the service, but risks to people were not always consistently identified or mitigation recorded. We discussed these areas with the deputy manager and were assured improvements were made. Because of this we determined that no breach of regulation was evident.
