Our view of the service

Date of assessment: 3 to 8 June 2026.

Hedgerow Homecare is a care agency providing personal care and support to people living in their own homes. The agency was previously registered at a different address and rated good. This service was registered with CQC on 8 November 2022, and this was the first assessment. Following our assessment, we have rated the service good.

The provider assessed people’s needs and risks to their safety and wellbeing. They created personalised care plans. People were involved in assessments and made choices about their care. Staff understood how to keep people safe and manage risks. The provider worked with external professionals to review people’s care and make changes when needed.

There were enough suitable staff. People were cared for by the same regular staff. The provider carried out checks on staff as part of their recruitment. Staff completed a range of training. Managers assessed staff competencies, knowledge and skills. Staff felt well supported and enjoyed working for the agency.

People received personalised care which met their needs and preferences. They were supported to stay independent when this was safe. They made choices about their care. Staff arrived on time and followed care plans. Staff alerted others when they identified concerns or were worried someone was ill. People received their medicines safely and as prescribed. Staff worked closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure people received holistic care and support.

There were effective systems for monitoring and improving the quality of the service. People using the service and other stakeholders were asked to feedback about their experience. Managers reviewed and learnt from accidents, incidents and complaints.

People's experience of this service

People had a good experience using the service. They were happy with the care and support they received. People liked their regular care workers. They explained care workers were kind and knew them well. People were able to speak with managers when they needed. They felt the agency was responsive when they had concerns or requested changes.

Comments from people and their relatives included, “[Care workers] have initiative and are always happy to help. They provide a good quality of life”, “Care workers are amazing and professional”, “Things could not be better”, “The care workers are brilliant. I cannot fault them” and “Our care worker is like part of the family now. We feel completely safe with [them].”
