Our view of the service

Date of Assessment: 28 March 2025 to 8 April 2025. The service is a domiciliary care agency providing personal care to adults of all ages living with physical disabilities, sensory impairments and dementia.

This is the first assessment for this newly registered service.

The provider was in breach of the legal regulations relating to governance systems.

The systems in place were not always effective in identifying areas requiring improvement. Calls were not always delivered at the correct time and for the correct length of time. Care plans and assessments were not always accurate, in place, up to date or reflective of people’s assessed needs.

Improvements were needed to ensure where lessons could be learnt this information was used to make changes.

However, people were supported by staff who knew them well and were suitably recruited and trained. People were protected from potential abuse and processes were in place for this. Peoples’ home environments were safe and infection control procedures were considered. People received their medicines when needed.

We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this assessment.

People's experience of this service

Although most of the feedback we received from people and relatives was positive, there were some concerns raised about not having access to care plans, people’s involvement with reviews and the length of the call times. People were happy with the care they received and the staff that supported them.
