Our view of the service

Date of Assessment: 3rd-13th February 2026.

Caring with Dignity Limited provides personal care to people in their own homes, supporting older people, those with disabilities, and people living with illness to remain independent in their communities. This was the service’s first assessment, since the provider registered with CQC in September 2022. Not everyone who used the service is in receipt of a regulated activity. CQC only reviewed the records of those people in receipt of a regulated activity.

The assessment identified concerns in medicines recording, care plan accuracy, and governance arrangements. Learning from safeguarding concerns and complaints was not always effectively shared with staff. Governance systems and processes for assessing risks and monitoring quality were not fully effective. These shortfalls increased people’s risk of harm, despite this why, we found no evidence of actual harm occurring.

This assessment found the provider was in breach of two legal regulations relating to safe care and treatment and good governance. The registered manager was open and honest, implemented some immediate improvements during the assessment period, and demonstrated a commitment to further develop and improve the service. An action plan was sent promptly by the registered manager during the assessment to address the concerns we found.

People received respectful, person-centred care that recognised their individual needs and choices, and families generally felt involved and supported. Care and support were delivered by a stable staff team who knew people well, with recruitment checks completed prior to staff commencing their roles. Staff understood their responsibilities to protect people from abuse and avoidable harm, and there were sufficient numbers of staff to provide safe care. Staff received regular training and ongoing support and reported positive experiences of management engagement.

People's experience of this service

Six relatives provided feedback. One relative raised concerns about continuity of carers and the impact of less experienced staff. Where there was frequent change, the relative felt this affected how well staff responded to individual needs, particularly during periods of increased confusion or following hospital discharge. A small number of relatives also described communication difficulties at times, which could lead to frustration or anxiety for the person receiving care.

Overall, people’s feedback was largely positive, with most expressing confidence in the service and satisfaction with the care provided. Relatives frequently described staff as kind, caring and supportive, with comments such as, “They are amazing,” “They’re a godsend,” and “I simply can’t fault them, they’re like family.” Several relatives said they felt reassured about safety, particularly in relation to medicines management and personal care. One relative shared, “I’ve never had any concerns about [person’s] safety,” while another said, “I know [person] is well cared for.” Families also valued the service’s efforts to help people remain at home.
