People's experience of this service
We spoke to 9 caregivers whose infants had undergone a frenulotomy. They provided exceptionally positive feedback about their experience. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive about the service and highly complementary of the registered managers’(RM) skills, knowledge and approach. Caregivers shared how much they valued the support they were provided at the point of booking, at the assessment, during the surgical procedure, and thereafter through aftercare. The RM was praised by multiple caregivers for their calming and appropriate age engagement with their infant which put everyone at ease, and minimised distress to their infants. The service was described as ‘warm’, ‘welcoming’ and ‘fantastic’. In the 12-month period prior to our assessment, 37 ‘share your feedback’ forms were submitted to the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and all provided positive feedback about the service. For example, people told us ‘I would wholeheartedly recommend [the RM] to anyone’, ‘she made an overwhelming situation feel manageable’, ‘we were so grateful for her support’ and ‘we felt listened to, respected, and supported’, and ‘the care provided led to a clear, measurable improvement in outcomes’. From March 2025 to February 2026, 38 reviews were received from people who had used the service. All were 5 out of 5-star reviews, demonstrating a high level of satisfaction with the service.
All caregivers told us they would highly recommend the service to others in a similar situation. Furthermore, feedback received through surveys and CQC feedback indicated they would, or have, recommended the service to others.
Healthcare professionals we spoke to were equally complimentary about the service provided. They considered it to be invaluable in supporting families where a tongue tie had been identified. They told us they received regular positive feedback about the service from people who had used it. Feedback we received from caregivers suggested the service had been recommended to them by other healthcare professionals.
