During a routine inspection

During our visit we heard that people were being treated with dignity and respect and people's independence was encouraged. People were spoken to in a respectful way. One person told us "the care is excellent. there is always someone to come and see me and they support me to do things for myself where possible."

Care plans that we looked at evidenced staff supporting people to make their own choices about what they had for lunch, what activities they took part in and what they needed support with. Staff knew exactly how each person communicated which meant people's wishes were understood and respected.

Records that we looked at evidenced that people were involved in choosing how and when they wanted their care and support. This indicated that people were involved in planning their care on a daily basis.

A family member told us "we could not have had a better team behind us, even if we had picked them ourselves" and another said "a big thank you to all the carers for their kindness and care - they were also supportive to me."

During a routine inspection

Carers of people who receive the service were very positive about the care their relatives receive. They told us staff arrive on time, are always polite and respectful to their relatives. Carers told us staff were, 'wonderful, had patience and were kind and caring'. They informed us they always know who is going to call. When they contact the office they advised us, the manager or member of staff was helpful and cheerful. Relatives informed us the person is provided with lots of useful information, which is available in their own home. Relatives living with the person receiving the service were aware of their relatives care plan and were involved in all reviews.
