Our view of the service

Date of inspection: 26 February 2025 to 20 March 2025. Angels Domiciliary Care Agency is a care at home service providing support to younger adults, people living with dementia, mental health support needs, sensory impairment, learning disability or autistic spectrum disorder. CQC only assesses where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. At the time of the inspection there were 6 people using the service. There was a registered manager in post at the time of the inspection.

At the time of the inspection, people using the service were not living with learning disability or autistic spectrum disorder. However, we have assessed the service against 'right support, right care, right culture guidance to make judgements whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability or autistic people, respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.

This is the first inspection of the service since they were registered on 18 October 2022. At this inspection the service has been rated good.

The service had enough staff employed to keep people safe. Pre employment checks were safe and robust. Staff received an induction at the beginning of their employment as well as regular training and appraisals.

People had care plans in place which documented all their care needs, so staff had relevant information on how to support people safely.

The service had a robust accident and incident policy in place which was followed by the registered manager and staff. Incidents were investigated and discussed at regular staff meetings, for learning and to prevent the risk of repetition in the future.

Staff told us they were very happy working for Angels Domiciliary Care Limited. They told us they felt well supported by the registered manager and the management team in general.

People's experience of this service

People and their relatives gave positive feedback of their experience of being supported by Angels Domiciliary Care Agency limited. They were happy with how staff supported them and told us they were treated with dignity and respect. We received comments like, “It’s the little things they do like; they will warm the wet wipes for [relative] before using them on [relative]. These little details are so kind,” and “I have no complaints at all about [relative’s] care they are all very good” and “Yes, I feel safe when my carers are here, I trust them all.”

People and their relatives told us they were also very happy with the support the registered manager gave them, and they thought that the service was well run. We received comments like, “Management are very co-operative” and “The registered manager is brilliant and is constantly going out of [the] way to make things easier for us. They are easy to communicate with and the phone is answered if we ever have to call. I am very happy with this agency.”

We found people had robust person-centred care plans and risk assessments in place. Care plans contained information about people’s likes, dislikes and their life histories so staff were able to get to know how people needed to be supported prior to delivering care.
