Inspection carried out on 12 February and 2 March 2011

During a routine inspection

People who were spoken to confirmed that their care needs were being met. One person said, �I can�t speak highly enough of the staff, I get every bit of help possible, they encourage my independence and support when needed�. �It doesn�t matter what time I ring my buzzer, they are there�.

Another person said, �I feel that I am being well cared for, I use the call bell if needed and don�t have to wait too long�.

One person said that when they were admitted staff spent two days talking to them about the care and support they needed. They believed that they had been consulted about this.

Another person said, �I can express my views, I make my own day to day decision, staff show courtesy and respect, they are very good�.

�Meals are pretty good, you have a choice, fish and chips on Friday are nice�.

�Meals seem to be alright; I prefer sandwiches and get different sandwich fillings�.

�Meals are alright, there are certain things I don�t like, and the chef asked me what I want and it if made for me�.

People said they felt safe and looked after.

One person said, �They encourage independence, support me and give support when needed�.

Another person said, �I feel that I am being well cared for, think the staff have the knowledge and understanding to help and support�.
