Our view of the service

We carried out this announced, on-site inspection on 9 May 2025.

We found the practice had met regulations.

Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance, and infection control procedures were in place.

The practice had systems to manage risks. Improvements should be made to ensure these are effective.

Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation. However, improvements should be made to ensure these are consistently followed.

There was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.

Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our inspection, could access care, support and treatment when required.

Impress Liverpool is part of Smile2Impress, a dental group provider. The practice is in Liverpool and provides primarily private orthodontic dental care and treatment for adults and children.

The practice is located within a shopping centre and there was step-free access. It is located close to public transport links and car parking spaces, including spaces for disabled people, were available nearby.

The practice had 2 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, the dental team consisted of 2 dentists with a special interest in orthodontics, 1 dental nurse, and the registered manager.

During the inspection we spoke with 1 dentist, 1 dental nurse, the registered manager and a practice manager from a sister site.

Staff feedback forms were shared with the team ahead of the inspection, giving staff an opportunity to confidentially share their views about the practice. We received 2 responses, which were considered as part of the inspection.

People's experience of this service

Two weeks before our on-site inspection, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We did not receive any direct patient feedback.

We reviewed online patient feedback. On the whole, patients expressed high levels of satisfaction with the treatment they received.

The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
