We found this practice was providing well led care in accordance with the relevant regulations and had taken into consideration appropriate guidance.

At the focused follow-up inspection on 10 August 2026, we found the practice had made the following improvements to comply with the regulations.

The practice had carried out Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) risk assessments in relation to the safe storage and handling of all of the substances hazardous to health that were in use by staff.
COSHH safety data sheets were not available for every COSHH identified product used in the practice.

Records to confirm that the smoke detectors were tested appropriately were available.
Records to confirm emergency lights were tested appropriately were available.
The fire risk assessment was reviewed yearly.
The most recent 5 yearly electrical installation condition (ECIR) test was unsatisfactory. Evidence to confirm shortfalls had been addressed was available.
The management of fire safety was carried out by someone who could demonstrate competency.
General waste bins were secured to prevent unauthorised interference.

All staff had carried out fire awareness training in the previous 12 months.
Fire exit routes were clear of debris.

Servicing had been carried out for the Laser equipment.
Servicing of the patient treatment chairs had been carried out.

The practice had a recruitment policy and procedures that reflected relevant legislation and supported the safe recruitment of suitable staff.
The practice ensured staff training, including continuing professional development, was up-to-date and reviewed at the required intervals.

Evidence of oversight of surgery cleaning standards was available.
The practice was able to provide 3 years of clinical waste collection notes.
External clinical waste bins were tethered to a fixed point in line with national guidance.

A new Legionella risk assessment had been carried out to reflect the updated water system.
The validation of autoclave equipment followed national guidelines.

Treatment room 1
The patient chair covering had been repaired.
Floor seals were complete and impervious.
Carpeting was no longer present within 1m of the treatment chair.

Treatment room 3
We were shown a quotation for new flooring which would rectify the incomplete flooring seals. This was due to proceed after the works in Surgery 1

The decontamination roomworktop and floor to wall seal was complete and impervious.

The access needs of hearing-impaired patients and visitors to the practice were considered. A hearing loop was available.

Records relating to accidents were stored securely in line with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
There was an effective system in place for the recording, handling and responding to concerns and complaints.
