Our view of the service
AIG Aesthetic Care is operated by AIG Aesthetic Care Limited. The clinic provides hair transplant surgery and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections on an elective basis for cosmetic reasons. The provider is registered with CQC to carry out the following regulated activities: Treatment of disease, disorder or injury, and Surgical procedures. There has been no registered manager employed by the service since 29 February 2024. We carried out onsite assessments on 24 September 2024 and 5 November 2024 to follow up on ongoing concerns about practices and patient safety, including to look at areas of concern raised with us by patients. Our assessment team included a lead inspector, 2 clinical specialist advisors, and a CQC pharmacist, with offsite support from a deputy director. Our last inspection of the service was published on 9 May 2024 and rated the service as inadequate. After this assessment we issued the provider with a notice of decision to urgently suspend their registration. This prevented the service from delivering regulated care. We also made referrals to the General Medical Council (GMC) regarding our concerns about the standards of practice.
People's experience of this service
Prior to our onsite assessment, 4 patients contacted us to raise concerns about their experiences with the provider. They said they found the clinic to be dirty and doctors to lack knowledge about pain relief and infection control. They also said the provider did not provide them with a treatment plan, contract, details of a cooling off period, or refund options. During our onsite assessment we spoke with 2 patients who told us they were happy with the standard of care received.
