Our view of the service

We carried out this assessment on 19 November 2025 as the service had not been assessed since it was registered in June 2022 and was unrated. SpaMedica Truro is operated by SpaMedica Ltd. The service is a private hospital offering cataract surgery and Yttrium Aluminum Garnet (YAG) laser capsulotomy services for NHS patients. They also provide cataract surgery for patients who choose to go private. The service did not treat children. The service operated in a large ground floor premises comprising of outpatient areas for clinical review, diagnostic testing, and a surgical area which contained an operating theatre.

SpaMedica Truro operated the service location under the Provider SpaMedica. SpaMedica has multiple locations throughout the UK offering Ophthalmic treatment and care. All policies and processes for this service are managed by SpaMedica. Staff at this service are contracted to work at all locations within the wider provider, this ensures consistency across all locations while maintaining safe staffing levels.
