Our view of the service
This assessment was carried out on 28 August 2025.
Rainford Hall is a privately funded residential substance misuse service that also provides a range of other therapies to clients. The service is set in 600 acres of well-kept grounds, utilising the location of a former private home that was registered with the Care Quality Commission in 2022 to provide treatment for disease, disorder or injury as well as accommodation for persons who require treatment for substance misuse. The service has 20 beds, with the accommodation provided based on both need and style of room. This is the first inspection of this service since registration.
The service has a registered manager. Medication management was the responsibility of the Clinical Lead at the service.
People's experience of this service
At the time of the inspection, there were eight clients attending the service, with a new client being admitted on the day of inspection. We spoke with 4 of the 8 clients staying at the service. They were very complimentary about the service. They described the service as very clean; they felt the staff went over and above in their efforts to ensure this. Clients said there were always staff available and friendly, and they would work hard to ensure that any points raised, or problems were dealt with quickly and efficiently. All clients we spoke to said they felt safe, their consent was always requested when treatment or engagement took place. Staff fully explained to clients what the available treatments entailed and were willing to discuss other options. Staff never entered a room without knocking, and staff tasked with cleaning rooms would often leave the favourite biscuit or treat of the client in their room. We were told that families were involved in their treatment if requested and agreed by the client. The service had a hot tub in place in the basement, this was not functioning due to a leak, and clients said that they were not informed about this prior to arrival and would have liked to have been informed.
