Our view of the service

Date of Assessment: 22 April to 27 April 2026. The service is a residential home providing support to adults of all ages living with learning disabilities and autistic people The service is registered to support 4 people. This assessment was carried out due to the age of the rating for the service.

We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’. This guidance supported judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choice, independence and access to local communities that most people take for granted.

People received care that delivered positive outcomes for them and was designed around their individual needs, preferences and wishes. People were at the centre of their care and support and the staff team worked together to reduce barriers to experiences and promote the rights of people to lead fulfilling lives.

People were supported by a skilled and experienced staff and management team who received training to equip them to meet people’s needs and promote independence. There were sufficient staff available to support people, and the provider’s recruitment systems ensured staff were safe to work with people. Medicines were managed safely.

People were supported by a staff team who acted in their best interests and sought their consent before providing care and support. People were encouraged to develop skills in independence and staff promoted people’s rights and dignity when supporting them.

People’s care was reviewed regularly and was responsive to people’s changing needs. People’s communication needs had been assessed and they were encouraged to provide their views and feedback on their experience of care. There was a system in place to ensure any complaints were effectively managed.

Feedback about the management of the service was positive. The staff team felt well supported and relatives expressed their confidence in the registered manager. There were systems and processes in place to monitor the quality of care people received, and action was taken where the need for improvement was identified. The provider ensured learning took place following incidents and events to reduce the risk of harm and improve the quality of care provided.

People's experience of this service

We observed people were confident to approach staff and appeared comfortable around them. Interactions between people and staff were friendly and caring, and staff understood people’s anxieties and distress.

Relatives spoke positively about the home and the difference it had made to the lives of their family members. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with relatives expressing their satisfaction with both the staff team and the registered manager. Relatives told us they were confident to approach the registered manager and felt the staff team worked hard to provide their family members with a positive experience.
