There was an activity co-ordinator employed who focused on identifying activities that were in line with people’s interests and preferences.

Care plans contained information about any communication needs people had. There was a policy in place in relation to Accessible Information Standards. Care plans were reviewed regularly and, when appropriate, families were invited to contribute to care plan reviews. Regular resident meetings were held to provide an opportunity for people to raise concerns and make suggestions. A relatives meeting had recently been held. Staff completed training in Equality and Diversity and there was an appropriate policy in place.

People were supported to taking part in a wide range of activities, including bus trips out and visits from a local church. Resident meetings were held which were an opportunity for people to feedback about their experiences. Adaptations had been made to the building to help ensure people were able to access the gardens. Some sensory plants had been purchased to enable more people to enjoy the garden.
