People's experience of this service
We spoke to 7 surgical patients in the hospital. Patients were positive about the staff treating them with warmth and kindness and providing effective care and treatment. Patients confirmed their pain was well managed, and they were supported to move around as much as possible after their operation. Patients said the call bells were always answered quickly, and they felt they could get assistance if needed. Patients told us they were given time to ask questions about their procedure and staff had checked they understood what procedure they were having done.
The Friends and Family Test (FFT) is a nationally recognised feedback tool that enables people using NHS services to share their experiences of care and treatment.
Listening to the views of patients and staff helps identify what is working well, what can be improved and how. The FFT asks people about their overall experience of services they have used and offers a range of responses. Inpatients performed well in the most recent FFT data, with 100% of responses deemed positive for Spire Little Aston and 79% “very good” overall experience, In February Spire Little Aston Hospital received 25 responses from an eligible base of 87 patients, this is equivalent to 29% of the eligible patient base.
People and families experienced care that was compassionate, respectful and kind. Staff listened to people, introduced themselves and responded sensitively to pain, distress and mental health needs.
