Our view of the service
Date of Assessment:01 to15 July 2025. Weybourne is a residential home for people living with dementia. At the time of this assessment 34 people were using the service and were receiving the registered activity of personal care.
At the time of our assessment there was an interim manager who had been in post since June 2025 as the former registered manager had resigned. A new permanent registered manager had been successfully recruited in post but will start in next few months.
We found people were protected from abuse and avoidable harm. Staff demonstrated a good knowledge of how to recognise signs of abuse and how to safeguard people if they had any concerns. We found people were safely supported to live their day to day lives in line with their choices and preferences and medicines were safely managed.
People were treated with kindness and as individuals. People had control over their own care which enabled them to access the community and activities of their choice. People were encouraged to maintain their relationships with families and had support to help them when needed.
The facilities and equipment met the needs of people, were clean and well-maintained and any risks mitigated. There were enough staff with the right skills and experience. Staff recruitment practices were safe. Staff were valued, supported, and received all the relevant training they needed to perform their roles and responsibilities well. Infection risks were safely managed. People received their medicines safely and as prescribed.
