Responding to people’s immediate needs

Score: 3

The provider listened to and understood people’s needs, views and wishes. Staff responded promptly to people’s needs in the moment, taking action to minimise any discomfort, concern or distress. Since the previous assessment, the provider had introduced a clear and consistent process for staff to follow in relation to call bell response times. These were monitored through monthly audits to ensure people did not experience excessive waiting times for support.

Improvements to staff availability and responsiveness had a positive impact on people’s experience. People told us they no longer experienced extended waiting times, and that staff availability at weekends had also improved. These arrangements ensured people received timely support and reassurance when they needed it most, which contributed to a caring, responsive and person‑centred service.
