Our view of the service
Date of Assessment: 31 March 2025 to 8 April 2025. The service is a care home with nursing and can accommodate up to 65 older people. At the time of our assessment, 28 people were living at the home. Our overall rating has changed from requires improvement to good.
The provider was previously in breach of legal regulations in relation to safe care and treatment. Improvements were found during this assessment and the provider was no longer in breach of regulations.
The assessment was prompted in part due to concerns received about people’s safety. A decision was made for us to inspect and examine those risks. We carried out a focused assessment and assessed a total of 15 quality statements from the safe and well-led key questions.
Improvements had been made since the last inspection. Medicines were now safely managed. People received their prescribed medicines at the right times and in the right way. Events such as incidents and accidents were thoroughly investigated, and lessons were learnt to reduce further occurrences. There were sufficient suitably skilled and experienced staff who were provided with the right support for their roles. All parts of the environment were safe, clean and hygienic.
The registered manager understood their role and responsibilities. They made good use of the providers governance systems and processes to measure and improve the quality and safety of the service. People and staff were confident about speaking up and were confident they would be listened to. The culture of the service was positive, person-centred and inclusive, and people experienced good outcomes. The was good partnership working with external health and social care professionals ensuring people received all round care and support.
