Our view of the service

Date of assessment: 03 March 2026 to 27 March 2026

Croft House Care Home is a residential care home providing accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care with capacity for up to 35 people. There were 31 people living at Croft House Care Home at the time of our inspection. The service provides care to older people. This was a fully comprehensive inspection, and we looked at all 5 key questions.

The provider had robust governance systems in place which helped to ensure people’s safety and wellbeing was maintained. These systems helped to drive improvement and reduce the recurrence of some incidents. Risks to people’s health, safety and wellbeing were assessed and routinely reviewed.

Staff were kind, caring and promoted people’s dignity and independence. The provider promoted a person-centred culture.

The environment was clean and well maintained. Equipment was serviced regularly and environmental checks were completed to ensure the safety of the service. People received their medications as prescribed.

Staff told us they felt supported and able to raise any concerns with the management team. Recruitment processes were managed safely. The registered manager was responsive to feedback throughout the assessment.

People's experience of this service

People and their relatives told us they felt safe and happy at Croft House Care Home. One person told us, “I have been here for a few years now, and really enjoy living here at this home.” People told us the staff were caring and kind and would make time for them outside of supporting them with their care and support needs.

We used an observation tool which helped us to assess if people were being included and listened to and how staff interacted with them. This showed staff were attentive to people’s needs and requests.

People and their relatives told us they felt able to raise any concerns and complaints were dealt with quickly and that management were approachable and responsive. Comments included, “Management are very approachable” and “The manager is a very kind lady.”
