Our view of the service

Date of Assessment: 28 April to 6 May 2026. This assessment was carried out to assess if the required improvements had been made following our previous inspection in June 2025. The service is a residential home providing support to adults of all ages living with dementia and physical disabilities.

Theproviderwas previously in breach of the legal regulations in relation to consent, safe care and treatment, safeguarding, good governance and notifications of incidents. Improvements were found at this assessment and theproviderwas no longer in breach of these regulations.

People were supported safely by a staff team who understood their risks. There were sufficient numbers of trained staff to provide both planned and responsive care and staff had been safely recruited. People received their medicines as required and staff followed infection control procedures to protect them from the risk of cross infection.

People’s needs were assessed and reviewed regularly and staff followed guidance in people’s care plans to meet their diverse and individual needs. The staff and management team worked in partnership with health and social care professionals to support people’s health and wellbeing. People were asked for their consent before care was provided and where people lacked mental capacity to make their own decisions, the provider had acted lawfully to ensure any decisions made were in people’s best interests.

Staff were caring and supported people with patience, while respecting their privacy and dignity. People were offered choices and their independence was promoted.

People’s care was responsive to their changing needs and information was provided to them in ways they could understand. People and relatives were invited to give feedback and there was a system in place to manage complaints.

Improvements had been made to governance and oversight systems which had improved the culture at the home and driven quality improvements. Staff were confident to speak up if they had any concerns or ideas to share, and learning was taken from audits, incidents and events to support on-going improvement.

This service has been in Special Measures since 8 August 2025. The provider demonstrated improvements had been made. The service is no longer rated as inadequate overall or in any of the key questions. Therefore, this service is no longer in Special Measures.
