Our view of the service

Date of Assessment: 10 September to 11 September 2025. The service is a care home providing nursing and personal care to older people, younger adults and people with physical disabilities. This inspection was carried out in response to a rating of requires improvement at the last inspection.

Staff now consistently supported people to take the medicines they were prescribed. The balance of medicines held in the service matched the records. Equipment relating to medicines management, such as syringe drivers and blood glucose monitors, was regularly serviced to ensure they were working effectively. Liquid medicines were now labelled when they were opened and stored in line with the provider’s medicines policy.

The provider now had effective systems to assess how the service was operating and plan improvements where needed. There was a range of monitoring and auditing systems used by the provider. This information was used to create a central action plan, which had named staff responsible and a timescale for completion. The plan was regularly reviewed by the registered manager and regional director to ensure actions had been completed.

People were supported to manage identified risks to them, including ensuring people were regularly re-positioned to prevent pressure injury, supported to manage the risk of falls and regular well-being checks. Staff worked with all agencies involved in people’s care for the best outcomes and smooth transitions when moving between services. The service was clean and well maintained throughout. The provider had systems in place to share learning from incidents in other services.
