There were 12 people who used the service at the time of our inspection. We used a number of different methods to help us understand their views and experiences. We spoke to three people who used the service and one relative. We talked to care staff, the registered manager and the provider. We looked at supporting care documentation. We found that people had given their consent for any care and that staff had acted in accordance with their wishes. We saw that people had been involved in making decisions about their care and treatment.
Appropriate arrangements were in place in relation to administering handling and recording medicines.
Robust recruitment practices had been followed.
People who used the service told us they were fully satisfied with all aspects of the service They knew who they could speak to if they wanted to make a complaint.
They told us the care was consistent. They always knew which staff member was coming to visit them. They liked the fact that that they normally saw the same staff member as this enabled them to build a relationship with them and meant that staff understood and knew their needs.
Comments included; 'They make things run smoothly, they are polite and reliable. I get the same carers and always know who is coming' and 'I have never had a late call. If my normal carer is off I am always offered an alternative person. I get the feeling that they employ people to match the people who use the service'.
