Our view of the service

About the Service

Right Care (Lancashire) Limited is a care at home agency focusing on supporting adults in in their own homes. At the time of our inspection 17 people were using the service.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulates the personal care and support that people may receive. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided.

Who the service is for
This service is registered to support older adults, younger adults, people with dementia, physical and sensory disabilities and mental health conditions.
We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.

Our view of the service
We carried out this assessment remotely from 1 September 2026 to 4 September 2026. We did not physically visit the office location. This service was previously rated as good. This report does not provide detailed information on areas where we found practice continues to meet a good standard. Instead, our findings focus on any areas where the service needs to improve or where we found exceptional practice.
People can only be deprived of their liberty to receive care and treatment with appropriate legal authority. We found that staff and management worked within the principles of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA). There was no one subject to DoLs at the time of our assessment.
People told us they felt safe, well supported and treated with dignity and respect. They described staff as caring, reliable, professional and responsive to their needs. Relatives consistently told us staff arrived on time, communicated well and developed positive, trusting relationships through consistent staffing arrangements. People said they would recommend the service to others.
Staff demonstrated a good understanding of safeguarding responsibilities, whistleblowing procedures and how to report concerns. They told us they felt supported by managers, had access to training and were confident to challenge poor practice where necessary. Care records showed risks were identified and managed appropriately, with evidence that staff followed care plans and supported people safely. Care plans contained personalised information and promoted people's independence, although some records would benefit from further minor detail regarding communication support, consent, pressure care planning and outcome-focused care planning, we fed this back to the registered manager who had already identified this and was taking action to ensure this was implemented.
The service had processes in place to investigate incidents, complaints and concerns, identify lessons learned and take action. Management oversight identified recurring themes relating to medication incidents, falls prevention and some complaints regarding consistency of care delivery. The registered manager was able to demonstrate what action had been taken and followed up on these themes.
There was clear evidence of improvements since the appointment of the current registered manager. People, relatives and stakeholders described significant improvements in organisation, communication and day-to-day management, and consistently reported confidence in the leadership of the service. Overall, the service demonstrated a positive and person-centred culture, with responsive leadership, engaged staff and a commitment to learning and continuous improvement.
