At this assessment we looked at 1 quality statement and the rating has remained good. This meant people were supported and treated with dignity and respect; and involved as partners in their care.

Independence, choice and control

The provider promoted people’s independence, so people knew their rights and had choice and control over their own care, treatment and wellbeing. People’s comments included, “I am very happy here, I wouldn’t be here but, I can’t manage on my own, the staff help me with everything, and I make choices around everything.” People's independence was promoted, and they chose how they spent their time. A relative told us, “She has only been in there for 2 weeks. She was then under the palliative care team, but she has rallied round a bit. We are satisfied with her care. The carers are very kind to her. They listen to her.”

Workforce wellbeing and enablement

Score: 3

The service cared about and promoted the well-being of their staff and supported and promoted staff to deliver good quality care. Staff told us they felt valued and supported by the management team. They all commented they were encouraged to voice their opinions, ideas and suggestions. Their comments included, “The registered manager is very supportive, there has been lots of changes since they [registered manager] arrived, this has been a change for the better and we are working better as a team now” and, “Any issues are quickly resolved and I could speak to any of the leaders if I had an issue."
