Our view of the service
Date of assessment 27 August to 16 September 2025. Ferguson Lodge provides accommodation with personal care for up to 46 people. When we inspected 36 people were living at the home.
This assessment took place to follow up breaches from the last inspection. The provider had made progress since the last inspection and was no longer in breach of regulations. Further improvements were needed in the records and guidance for medicines. Some care plans contained inconsistent information, and not all daily records were required for some people.
There were sufficient staff to meet people’s needs in a timely way. New staff were recruited safely. Health and safety checks and risk assessments were completed to maintain a safe environment.
Incidents and accidents were investigated and analysed to identify areas for improvement. There were regular opportunities available for people and relatives to give feedback. Most feedback was very positive, where issues were raised the provider acted to address these. There had been no formal complaints about the service. The home regularly received compliments about the care provided.
People's experience of this service
People and relatives gave consistently positive feedback about the care provided at Ferguson Lodge. A person told us, “The staff are lovely and caring. They look after me like I’m family.” A relative said, “I've never seen staff treat people with anything other than care and respect.”
There were meaningful interactions and relationships between people and staff. Staff were visible and quick to support people when they needed it. People experienced a pleasant lunchtime experience with effective strategies used to promote choice.
