Our view of the service

Date of Assessment: 31 July to 25 Sept 2025.

 

Bings Hall is a residential service providing support to older people, some of whom may be living with dementia. The service can accommodate up to 17 people. At the time of our visit to the service, 17 people were living at the service.

 

At out last inspection (report published 17 June 2024) we found breaches in regulation and rated the service Requires Improvement. At this inspection we found improvements has been made relating to the management of risks, consent to care, the environment and governance. The provider is no longer in breach of regulation and the service is now rated Good.

 

People received safe care and were supported by a staff team that knew and understood their needs well. Staff managed risks related to the delivery of people’s care. Information regarding changes in people’s needs, incident and accidents, and any feedback following events was shared via consistent communication and teamwork.

 

People’s needs in relation to their health and wellbeing were assessed and reviewed. People, relatives and staff all contributed to care plans, risk assessments and ensuring that people were at the centre of their care. The team had positive relationships with other healthcare professionals and partner agencies.

 

Staff felt supported in their work. They were provided with a range of training and opportunities to share feedback on their experiences of working at the service.

The provider had a quality assurance system in place. Feedback was actively sought and acted upon by the registered manager. There was an open and transparent culture at the service, where complaints and any untoward events were used as learning opportunities.

The registered manager was highly thought of by both people living at the service, relatives and staff. They were described as supportive and approachable.

People's experience of this service

 

People and relatives were happy with the quality of care at Bings Hall and made many positive comments about the service, the staff and management.

 

People and relatives consistently described the service as ‘homely’ and told us they were involved in care planning, assessments and reviews as much as they wanted to be.

 

People and relatives told us they felt listened to and that staff and management were always open to hear any questions, concerns or feedback they may have.

 

Everyone we spoke with or received feedback from praised the staff and management team for the welcoming and comfortable atmosphere at the service.
