Our view of the service
Date of assessment: 30 June 2026 – 07 August 2026.
Silverpoint Court Residential Home is a residential care home providing accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care with capacity for up to 33 people. There were 24 people living at Silverpoint Court Residential Home at the time of our assessment. The service provides care to older people. At the last assessment published on 14 April 2025, we found breaches of legislation in relation to person centred care, safe care and treatment and good governance. At this assessment, we found that enough improvements had been made to remove these breaches. This was a fully comprehensive assessment, and we looked at all 5 key questions.
Since our last assessment, the provider had strengthened their governance processes, including more thorough analysis of areas such as falls and analysing call bell data. The provider was currently making improvements to the environment with extensive refurbishment of the home, which was ongoing. The provider was in the process of making further improvements to their oversight of care plans and risk assessments, including ensuring it was clear who had been involved in reviews.
Feedback from staff was mixed around support and some staff told us they did not always feel supported by management and did not always feel comfortable with raising any concerns or complaints.
Staff were recruited safely, with appropriate pre‑employment checks completed. We found people also received their medicines in line with prescribed doses and timings, and staff followed safe administration practices.
People’s communication needs were assessed. Staff had received safeguarding training and understood how to report concerns.
The management team were open and responsive to our feedback and had taken action to address any concerns in a timely manner.
People's experience of this service
We spoke with people who lived at Silverpoint Court along with their relatives to gain insight into the care they received. Most people and their relatives we spoke with told us they felt safe living at the home. However, they did not always feel there was enough staff available, which impacted aspects of wellbeing such as activities.
We used a structured observation tool to assess whether they received good care which helped us to assess if people were being included and listened to and how staff interacted with them. During our observations, we sawthat staff interacted with people in a kind manner, however it sometimes appeared more task focused.
People and relatives feedback was mixed about raising concerns. They told us they were not always comfortable raising issues with management and due to the recent management changes, were not always sure who to raise concerns with. However, some relatives told us they did feel able to raise any issues and felt confident they would be resolved.
