During an inspection in response to concerns

We asked some of the people using the service about life at Elmsleigh care home. They said they were very comfortable and happy living in the home, They said that the home was well maintained and kept very clean They told us they chose what they did each day, for example, they go to bed and get up when they like, what clothes they like to wear, there was a good choice of food at mealtimes and there were activities they could join in if they wished. We observed a person waiting to go out for the day with their family, we also saw people socialising with visitors, and others reading newspapers, socialising with other people using the service, watching TV and listening to music.

People told us they could raise concerns to staff or the manager if the need ever arose. We spoke to relatives who echoed this and said that they felt welcomed to the home.

Our observations concluded people appeared happy with the service and the staff that supported them. We observed that privacy and dignity were respected during our visit. Staff were observed talking to people and asking them what they would like to do. We saw that people's wishes were respected. We observed people moving around the home with no restrictions.
