We checked that people who use this service

How this check was done

We reviewed all the information we hold about this provider, carried out a visit on 11/05/2012, observed how people were being cared for, looked at records of people who use services, talked to staff and talked to people who use services.

Our judgement

People who use the service were protected from the risk of abuse, because the provider had taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent abuse from happening. The provider was meeting this standard.

User experience

People spoken with confirmed that they trusted staff and felt safe. A person said, “I feel safe.” They had information about what to do if they had concerns about the way they were being treated. A person said about this, “I can talk to staff if I need to.” Staff spoke to people in a manner that showed respect. People knew how to raise concerns about issues that affected their well-being.

Other evidence

People were protected from the risk of abuse, because the provider had taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent abuse from happening. Staff knew how to respond to safeguarding concerns to keep people safe and promote their rights. Staff knew how to recognise the signs of abuse. They knew who to report their concerns to. Safeguarding and whistle blowing policies were in place. Training records confirmed that staff had received training on safeguarding.
