Our view of the service

The assessment took place between 28 July and 3 August 2026.

Eastbury House is a care home providing accommodation and personal care for up to 23 older adults. At the time of the assessment, the home was fully occupied.

People received person-centred care from a staff team that knew them well and understood their individual needs, preferences and aspirations. Feedback from people, relatives, staff and professionals was consistently positive about the quality of care provided and the warm, homely atmosphere within the service. People were supported to make choices, maintain meaningful relationships, pursue interests and remain involved in decisions about their care and support.

The service was led by an experienced and visible management team who promoted a positive culture centred on kindness, dignity, independence and respect. Staff told us they felt supported, valued and involved in the development of the service. There was a strong emphasis on teamwork, continuous learning and ensuring people achieved outcomes that were important to them.

People were supported to access healthcare services when needed and benefitted from effective partnership working with a range of health and social care professionals. Relatives and professionals told us communication was effective and that staff responded promptly to changes in people's health and wellbeing. Care was well coordinated, helping to promote positive outcomes and continuity of support.

The home was clean, safe and welcoming. Adapted equipment and facilities supported people to remain as independent as possible, and regular environmental and safety checks were undertaken to help ensure people's safety. Although some areas of décor appeared tired following the installation of a fire sprinkler system, plans were in place to redecorate and refresh these areas.

The service treated people as individuals and supported them to maintain choice and control and helped to plan for their future.

Overall, Eastbury House provided high-quality, person-centred care in a safe, supportive and inclusive environment, with leaders and staff committed to continually improving the experiences and outcomes of people living at the home.
