Our view of the service
Date of assessment: 22 October to 20 November 2024. The assessment was carried out to follow up from our previous assessment to identify if improvements had been made. Significant concerns relating to the management of people’s risks, medicines management, assessments of people’s mental capacity, and governance processes remained. We found 3 breaches of the legal regulations. However, we found the provider had made some improvements since the last assessment. Recruitment checks were now clearly documented, support calls were now largely on time, and a review of accidents had taken place which recorded lessons learned and actions taken. Guidance for staff in relation to support tasks was more detailed for some service users.
People's experience of this service
We received mixed feedback from people and their relatives. Some people expressed concern about unsafe staff practices and a lack of compassion from the staff team. Others shared more positive experiences and felt their care was delivered by a consistent staff team who understood their needs and preferences.
