Staff were completing checks of fire safety equipment such as the fire alarm, fire doors, fire extinguishers, fire exits and emergency lighting. Logs were kept demonstrating that these weekly and monthly checks were being regularly completed. Records were available to demonstrate that annual fire drills had taken place. Additional fire drills had taken place to ensure that all staff at the practice had been involved in a fire drill at least annually. Action had been taken to address issues identified in the practice fire risk assessment.

Evidence was available to demonstrate that actions had been taken to address issues identified in the latest legionella risk assessment.

Improvements had been made to medicines management. Antibiotic stock was now securely stored and details recorded on medication labels were in line with recommended guidance.

Evidence was sent to demonstrate that all staff had completed basic life support training within the required timeframe.

Systems were now in place to ensure effective oversight of staff Hepatitis B immunity levels; titre levels were available for all relevant staff.

Systems had been put in place to ensure effective checks were being made on medical emergency equipment. Daily and weekly logs were kept which recorded all items of the medical emergency kit as required including expiry dates. Items of medical emergency equipment that was missing at the last inspection had been replaced immediately.

The practice had a contract with a Radiation Protection Advisor and local rules recorded were updated. Action had been taken to address issues identified in the Radiation Protection Advisors action plan.

Improvements had been made to audit systems. The radiography and the infection prevention and control audits were now being completed at the required frequency of every 6 months.

At our inspection of 26 November 2025, we identified that the provider did not have effective oversight of staff training as some recommended training had not been completed. At this inspection, we requested but were not provided with evidence to demonstrate that this recommended training had been completed. The provider should therefore, implement practice protocols and procedures to ensure staff are up to date with their mandatory training and their continuing professional development.
