During a routine inspection

In this report the name of a registered manager (Ms. Patricia Galloway) appears who was not in post and not managing the regulatory activities at this location at the time of the inspection. Their name appears because they were still a Registered Manager on our register at the time. The new manager Dale Allard was managing Blisworth Close.

During our inspection visit to Blisworth Close we spoke with six people using the service and two relatives. We also spoke to three members of staff and the manager.

People living in the home expressed satisfaction with the care and service that they received. They told us that the staff looked after them well and took them on holidays that they had chosen in their meetings. One person told us 'Staff are very nice and they take me to the theatre and shopping'. Another person told us that they went to day care and enjoyed this. The people also told us that they liked the food and discussed the menu for the week with care staff. They also told us if they had any concerns they would speak to the staff and they would listen to them.

We spoke to two relatives who visited Blisworth Close on a regular basis. They told us that the place was always clean, pleasantly decorated and homely. They said the care provided by staff was 'brilliant' and they worked very hard to provide people using the service the best quality care. They also told us that all the people using the service got on well with each other and this was observed on the day of the Inspection visit.

During a routine inspection

We spoke with two people using the service and they told us that they liked living at Blisworth Close and felt safe. People's bedrooms were very individual and contained items that were personal to them. Staff supported people living at the home to access the community and participate in a range of activities and outings including holidays. People were involved in the running of the home. People were supported to undertake household tasks.

We spoke with staff at the home who told us that it was like one big family at the home. The staff felt well supported. The environment felt very homely.

We looked at the results of a consultation with family members of people who used the service. It showed that family members were happy with the service.

We found concerns with records at the home. We did not find them to be accurate and up to date to reflect people's current needs and circumstances. We found that the safeguarding documentation had not been updated.
